Hon. Eyo Bassey (Empowerment Chairman), Member Representing Bakassi State Constituency, has called on the Cross River State Government to come to the aid of the people of Ine Abasi, a fishing community in Bakassi which was engulfed in a fire incident.

Sometime last week, the attention of the Honourable Member was drawn to a fire outbreak in Ine Abasi. It was reported that the outbreak damaged a part of the community greatly, with houses and properties including fishing tools burnt to ashes. The cause of the fire was still unknown as members of the community were temporarily displaced.
