A disturbing new case of alleged educator misconduct has emerged as Dr. Keiva Lark, an assistant principal at Lake Marion Creek Middle School in Polk County, Florida, faces criminal charges for inappropriate behavior with a student.

This marks the latest in a series of troubling incidents across the nation involving school officials accused of crossing professional boundaries with minors.

According to Polk County law enforcement, the incident began when a 13 year old student was sent to Lark’s office for disrupting class by throwing paper during an exam. Police allege Lark instructed the boy, whom she reportedly called “Sexy Chocolate,” to give her a foot massage, telling him he “didn’t have anything better to do with his hands.” Investigators say Lark removed her shoes, placed her legs across the boy’s lap, and demanded compliance.

A witness later reported hearing Lark criticize the student’s technique before allegedly demonstrating by massaging his shoulders and arms. Police documents state she told the boy to “rub her as if he loved her,” framing it as a lesson for “when he snags a girlfriend.” The witness came forward days later, prompting an investigation that began April 4.

Lark was arrested and charged with lewd/lascivious conduct and lewd offenses by an authority figure, both felonies. The school district has placed her on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case. This incident adds to a growing list of educators nationwide accused of misconduct with students, raising serious questions about oversight and accountability in schools.

Legal experts emphasize that any s3xualized behavior between educators and minors constitutes a severe breach of trust and is punishable by law. Florida statutes classify such offenses as felonies carrying potential prison time and lifetime sex offender registration if convicted.

Polk County Public Schools issued a statement affirming cooperation with law enforcement and emphasizing student safety as their top priority. The case has reignited discussions about power dynamics in schools and the need for better protections for students. Authorities continue to investigate and encourage anyone with additional information to come forward.
