“The Voice” alum Ryan Whyte Maloney, who appeared on Season 6 of the NBC reality competition series, has died by suicide. He was 44.

Maloney died Tuesday in Las Vegas, the Clark County Coroner confirmed to People.

The coroner listed his cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head.

On Monday, Maloney posted a since-expired video to his Instagram stories from what appeared to be a bar, saying, “Nine fine Irishmen for a private party tonight, and we will be rocking,” according to People and TMZ.

A multitalented musician, the Michigan native played guitar, violin, cello, drums and even spent a decade fronting the prog-rock band Indulge, before he pivoted to solo endeavors.

With Indulge, he recorded 2005’s “Tomorrow’s Another Day” album and, on his own, recorded “Where I’ve Been.”

Prior to auditioning for “The Voice” in 2014, Maloney also earned a name for himself with country tunes like “Hillbilly,” “Michigan Moonlight” and “Living with No Directions.”

After a “Voice” blind audition with Journey’s “Lights,” Maloney joined Blake Shelton’s team, where he was one of the top five finalists. On the show, he covered hits like Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It” and also performed on the Season 6 finale.

He released multiple singles between 2020 and 2024, including “Mountains,” “You Didn’t Care,” “American Eagle” and, most recently, “I Already Did.”

According to his website, Maloney opened for and shared the stage with dozens of artists including Shelton, Tim McGraw, Shakira, Usher, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, One Republic, Lady Antebellum and many more.

His association with Shelton continued until the end, as Maloney had a residency at the country star’s Nashville, Tennessee, bar, Ole Red, which opened last January. In addition to participating in the pre-opening festivities, Maloney had an ongoing residency at the venue.

The Daily News has reached out to Ole Red as well as Shelton’s representatives for comment.
