ACCRA, Ghana, July 24, 2026/APO Group/ —
The Ministerial Session of the Second Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation (PJCC) between the Republic of Ghana and the Kingdom of Morocco was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Accra on Tuesday, 21st July, 2026, under the co-chairmanship of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Nasser Bourita.
The Ministerial Session followed the successful Technical Experts Meeting held in Rabat from 9th to 11th June, 2026. At the end of the Session the following eleven bilateral instruments were signed by both sides:
1. Agreement on Air Services (initialed in December 2022 in Abuja).
2. Agreement on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters.
3. Memorandum of Understanding in the Areas of Standardization, Conformity Assessment, and Metrology-Related Activities.
4. Memorandum of Understanding on Higher Education, Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
5. Memorandum of Understanding on the Promotion of Collaborative Activities in the fields of Meteorology and Climatology.
6. Memorandum of Understanding for Scientific and Technical Cooperation between Office National des Hydrocabures et des Mines “ONHYM” et Minerals Commission and Ghana Geological Survey Authority.
7. Memorandum of Understanding on Diplomatic Training.
8. Agreement on Cooperation in the field of Vocational Training.
9. Cooperation Agreement on the Award of Academic Scholarships, Internships, and the Sharing of Expertise.
10. Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Sports.
11. Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Archives.
Both Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of the decisions and agreements reached under the Second PJCC, and expressed confidence that the renewed partnership would deepen Ghana-Morocco relations, and contribute meaningfully to Africa’s integration, and collective self-reliance.
