Gov Yusuf mobilise 4,444 Qur’an reciters for prayers against banditry

By Our Reporter

KANO (CONVERSEER) – Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has cautioned residents against turning security challenges into political issues, emphasising that the rise in banditry requires unified efforts from everyone, regardless of political leanings.

He gave the warning on Saturday night during a special prayer session at the Government House, where 4,444 Qur’an memorisers (Huffaz) convened to recite the Holy Qur’an and pray for lasting peace in the state, following recent attacks by armed bandits.

Recall that in the last couple of months, bandits have been terrorising Nigeria, especially the northern part.

The crimes pulled by the bandits include kidnappings, targeting schoolchildren and teachers, robbery, etc.

The situation has forced President Bola Tinubu to increase security in the affected areas amidst United States President Donald Trump’s declaration.
