Governor Eno sacks Commissioner for Special Duties of Appointment

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has relieved his Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr Bassey P. Okon of his duties as Honourable Commissioner with immediate effect.

This decision is part of the administration’s efforts to reposition itself in line with the ARISE agenda.

According to a press release signed by Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah, on Monday, the Governor thanked Dr Okon for his services to the state and wished him well in his future endeavours.

Dr Okon has been directed to hand over to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, while the Secretary to the State Government will supervise the Ministry pending the appointment of a new Commissioner.
