Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has approved the appointment of Dr Peter Ashishie Uklala as Special Adviser on Budget, with immediate effect.
The appointment, announced in a press release dated October 20, 2026, and signed by the Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Linus Obogo, is aimed at strengthening fiscal discipline, budgetary coordination and the effective use of public resources.
According to the statement, Uklala is expected to bring his professional expertise to bear on budget formulation, implementation monitoring, expenditure discipline and performance evaluation.
The government said his appointment would support the development of a result-oriented budgeting framework that promotes transparency, accountability, value for money and measurable development outcomes.
It added that the move aligns with the development priorities and welfare aspirations of the people under Otu’s People First Agenda.
The appointment takes immediate effect, the statement said.
