Governor Otu constitutes 17-member committee for implementation of N70000 minimum wage

Calabar, Cross River State – Governor Bassey Otu has constituted a 17-member committee for the implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage earlier approved by President Bola Tinubu.

CONVERSEER reports that the Cross River State Joint Public Service Negotiating and Implementation Committee set up by Governor Otu is to deliberate on the N70,000 new National Minimum Wage and its consequential adjustment in the State.

According to a press release by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nsa Gill, on Thursday, “The committee is expected to commence sitting any date from 1st of November, 2024 subject to her convenience and round up on time to enable compliance in the State.”

The Committee has Obol (Dr) Innocent E. Eteng, Head of Service of the State, as Chairman and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishments, as the Secretary of the Committee.

Members of the Committee are as follows:

1. Obol (Dr) Innocent E. Eteng, Head of Service of the State – Chairman of the Committee

2. Special Adviser, Labour & Productivity
