In a time when hunger is striking hard on Nigerians and the poor are clamouring for crumbs, Governor Bassey Otu’s Special Assistant on APC Support Groups, Clement Asanye, has been accused of stealing palliatives meant for support groups.
The accusation was made by Chief Samuel Egba, an Aspirant for the APC National Youth Leader, on Saturday via a message.
According to Egba, Asanye gave a few support groups 5kg of garri.
He called on Governor Otu to call his SA to order if he wants to avert the 1st of August protest.

“URGENT INFORMATION FOR OUR BELOVED GOVERNOR SEN PRINCE BASSEY EDET OTU PERUSAL…
His Excellency, please kindly call to order the young man appointed as SA on support groups by mistake. He was appointed by mistake because he has no valuable support groups, he was not on the scene or among those with notable support groups, so on what basis was he appointed SA on support groups?
He has stolen virtually all the palliatives allocated to support groups. He gave a few support groups head 5kg of garri each and the timing is very wrong for such an act. We have a nationwide protest coming up in few days, and he is exhibiting such a criminal act, please if something urgent is not done before the 1st of August, I’m afraid some persons will use it as a medium to protest. It is advisable we desist from any act that will fuel anger by the masses. Please if he does not know his job as SA on support groups, we humbly advise you to withdraw the appointment from him…
