Emrich Effanga’s brother, guitarist Fiokee has narrated how his sister was k!lled by her boyfriend whom she met in church. Fiokee explained his sister met Ndifreke Isaiah in church and he wooed her. However, in a short while, his sister realised he was not the godly man he portrayed himself as, so she told him she wasn’t interested in the relationship anymore. Fiokee added that people around his sister’s shop and residential area observed her boyfriend Ndifreke Isaiah beat her twice, so they warned him to stay away from her. However, Ndifreke allegedly started putting pressure on Emrich to take him back and was also making threats. Then on Thursday, Feb. 6, he allegedly went to her house uninvited when her neighbours were not around. When she confronted him for coming uninvited, he allegedly attacked her and str@ngled her to de@th. He then allegedly took her phone, ATM card, and shop key and fled the scene. He proceeded to put his sim in the deceased’s phone and started using it. On Thursday evening, when Emrich did not attend the church program which she had been attending without fail and even posted about on her Facebook page on Wednesday, Feb. 5, church members got worried. 
They went to her house to check on her on Friday and they saw she had been k!lled. On Friday evening, Ndifreke attended church as usual and church members alerted the security team. When Ndifreke saw them approaching, he hastily left church, while pretending to answer a call on his de@d girlfriend’s phone. However, another security group was waiting for him outside the church and they apprehended him.
