Unknown gunmen have allegedly kidnapped a pregnant woman in Cross River State.
CONVERSEER learned that the heavily pregnant woman (name undisclosed) was kidnapped on Friday in Eseku Community, Creek Town, in Odukpani Local Government Area of the State.
According to CrossRiverWatch, the target was the woman’s husband, who escaped, but they [kidnappers] had to whisk her wife away, sparking fears in the community.
“They used the waterways at Esuk Ansa through land to Eseku, which is a distance of about four kilometres,” a source told CrossRiverWatch.
The kidnappers are demanding 15 million Naira as ransom.
CONVERSEER reports that security has improved in recent months in the state with just a few pockets of reported cases.
