Honda’s First Electric Bike Combines The Fun Of Motorcycles And Mountain Bikes

On November 5, 2023, Honda demonstrated its first electric bicycle at the Japan Mobile Show – the Honda e-MTB concept car. The bike is similar to what other major automakers are doing in using electric technology to expand their brands.

It was reported that the Honda e-MTB concept car looks like a downhill electric bicycle. Unlike some concept electric bicycles, Honda’s bicycle looks like it can be put into production.

The e-bike reportedly uses an existing Brose mid-drive motor. By using existing e-bike parts, Honda can focus more on the overall appearance and structural design of the bike, leaving the production of bike parts to A company that already has decades of experience.

This full-suspension e-bike uses SRAM Eagle AXS shifting, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, Fox front and rear shocks, RockShox Reverb dropper post, DT Swiss XM 1700 wheels, and Maxxis Minion DHF tires.

Honda said: “The Honda e-MTB Concept expands the realm of mobility in nature. Easily climbing hills with the help of electric assistance, this bike offers a new way to combine the fun of a motorcycle with the fun of a mountain bike. riding experience. It’s being developed to give anyone more freedom to enjoy mountain trail riding.”
