Housewife Tragically Collapses and Passes Away While Collecting Water in Abuja Village

A 37-year-old housewife identified as Mama Zahra reportedly slumped and d!ed while fetching water at Bugakwo village in Kuje Area Council of the FCT.

 

 

The village head of Bugakwo, Suleiman Adamu, who confirmed the incident to Daily Teust through telephone, said it happened around 2:34 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

Adamu said the woman, a mother of four, left the house to fetch water from a borehole when the incident happened. 

 

 

He said the woman was already returning home with the basin of water on her head when she suddenly slumped.

 

 

The village head said immediately she slumped, neighbours who were around the area, poured water on her. 

 

 

According to him, the woman was conveyed on a motorcycle to Kwaku primary health centre, where she was confirmed d3ad

 

 

He said he directed two of his aides to go and inform the husband at the farm

 

“The woman’s husband had gone to the farm when the incident happened, but I quickly directed two of my palace aides to go and inform him,” he said. 

 

 

The village head said the woman’s husband said the deceased complained of severe headache on Saturday night and he gave her paracetamol before he left to the farm after Subhi prayers

 

“Unfortunately, it was the medical personnel at the health centre in Kwaku, who later attributed the woman’s death to high blood pressure,” the chief explained.
