Today, August 8, 2026, MTN Nigeria is giving 25GB of data for free to all customers. The network is also giving 25 free calls to customers.
This is part of its 25th Anniversary celebration in Nigeria. The network has been in the country for 25 years and to reward it loyal customers, it is giving free data and calls automatically and via the myMTN app.
Confirming the news, MTN while responding to customers on X via its support handle, wrote:
“Y’ello @Akposxau, apologies for the delayed response. As part of MTN Nigeria’s 25th Anniversary celebration, eligible customers can enjoy 25GB FREE data + 25 FREE voice minutes. To redeem, log in to the MyMTN App and tap “Redeem Now” on the anniversary banner.

How To Redeem Your 25GB Of FREE MTN Data
SMSs were sent to MTN customers. If you received and SMS like the following message:
“MTN is 25! 25GB data Just4U today. Redeem now on myMTN App: https://go.mtn.ng/app or MTN eShop: https://shop.mtn.ng/. Offer ends 11:59PM.”
Then, you’re eligible. Even if you didn’t, you’re still eligible. All you have to do is follow the steps below:
1. Click on the link on the SMS “https://go.mtn.ng/app” or simply download the myMTN App via Google Playstore of Apple App Store or your device app store. Note, if you already have the app on your phone, clicking the above link will take you to the app. Or, you can simply open the app.
2. After opening the app, enter your login details if you’re asked to and not automatically logged in. Note, you’ll have to register if you haven’t registered via the myMTN App before. You can use your phone number or email to register/login.
3. After successful login, wait for a pop-up banner with the MTN Nigeria’s 25th Anniversary celebration offer. It may take a while, especially for those login in after a while. Or, just close the app and open it again, either directly or via the link on the SMS or the one in (1) above.
4. The pop-up banner displays the following message:
“Thank you for being part of our journey of progress. Enjoy 25GB Data Today. Redeem now. Explore the app for other exciting deals and offers.
5. Click on the “Redeem now” button to claim your free 25GB data offer. Wait till the offer is claimed.
6. After claiming the offer, you’ll see a new pop-up banner with the following message:
“You have redeemed your anniversary offer.”
7. You’ll also received an SMS of the free data:
“You’ve successfully received your 25GB FREE MTN Anniversary data valid till 11:59PM today. Enjoy browsing!”
How To Claim 25 Free Calls On MTN
After redeeming your free 25GB data, you are also eligible to free 25 calls.
To receive your 25 free calls, all you have to do is make calls to 25 people. That’s all. It’s automatic, you don’t have to do anything else.
NOTE: The free data and free call offers expires today at 11:59pm (WAT) Nigerian time. Ensure you use up everything before it expires because it cannot be carried over.
To ensure you received your free data and calls, dial *310# to check your balance. You’ll receive an SMS with the details of your balance as shown below.
NOTE: You’ll be charged from your free data and calls bonus before your main account.
