Popular Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy has disclosed how he forfeited five million dollars ($5m) to perform in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to Daily Loud, an entertainment gossip blog, the multi-award-winning singer said he turned down the money because of Dubai law which forbids smoking.

“Burna Boy reveals he turned down $5 Million to perform in Dubai because smoking is banned there,” the tweet by Daily Loud on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, said.

While a few persons have lauded Burna Boy’s decision, many see it as a problem following the campaign against smoking.

Meanwhile, the Grammy Award winner in a tweet last month said something that sounded otherwise.

“A wise man can play the fool but the fool can never play wise,” Burna Boy said in a tweet.
