Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale has shared his rags-to-riches story to motivate all and sundry that they could also become better versions of themselves should they ensure the right things are being done.

Speaking in an interview on The Honest Bunch podcast in Nigeria, Shatta Wale brought to the limelight some challenges he went through but kept it a secret from the general public.

The musician shared that, before success located him, he was going through hell and had to depend on alms for survival.

The musician noted that, even though he had made a name and become a household name, the fame didn’t reflect in his pocket, sharing that there were times he had no option but to sleep in hunger.

Accommodation-wise too, Shatta Wale claims that despite the fact that he was famous, he had nowhere to sleep but decided to keep it private and away from social media.

He noted that “I’ve lived with hunger,” adding that “I was a star, but I didn’t have anywhere to sleep”.
