IPOB Leader Kanu Accuses Enemies of Ndigbo of Exploiting His Absence to Target Innocent Lives

The detained leader of proscribed Igbo separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has blamed his absence for recent deadly attacks in the South-East by those he describes as enemies of Ndigbo who go about killing harmless and innocent people.

The Biafran agitator particularly blamed the invasion of the Amegu Nkalagha community in Ishielu Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, last weekend by suspected herdsmen on his forced “illegal” detention by the Nigerian government.

Kanu who bared his mind through his Special Counsel, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor on Tuesday, said the attacks were coordinated by enemies of the South-East who are taking advantage of his detention.

Ejimakor who shared Kanu’s anger on X, said if Kanu was a free man, “no entity would have dared to carry out such an audacious attack on a peaceful farming community in the South-East.”

He noted that the enemies were taking advantage of the IPOB leader’s “illegal detention to attack communities in the region, kill harmless citizens and destroy properties.”

“During our visitation with Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu yesterday, he lamented that enemies of the Igbo race have taken advantage of his illegal detention to unleash coordinated attacks on defenseless villagers,” Ejimakor wrote.
