Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warned on Monday that the United States would face a strong blow if it followed through on US President Donald Trump’s threat to bomb Iran. Khamenei’s remarks were in response to Trump’s statement, which threatened Iran with bombings unless it agreed to a new nuclear deal with Washington.Iran issued a warning on Monday, March 31 about Trump’s threats to Switzerland’s embassy, which represents US interests and acts as an intermediary between Washington and Tehran, state media said. In its warning, Tehran expressed determination to respond “decisively and immediately” to any threat. “The enmity from the US and Israel has always been there. They threaten to attack us, which we dont think is very probable, but if they commit any mischief they will surely receive a strong reciprocal blow. And if they are thinking of causing sedition inside the country as in past years, the Iranian people themselves will deal with them,” Khamenei added. Iranian authorities blame the West for recent unrest, including the 2022-2023 protests over Mahsa Amini’s death in custody for allegedly violating hijab rules, and the 2019 nationwide protests over fuel price hikes.Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday said that Tehran would not enter direct negotiations with Washington but was willing to continue talks indirectly, in line with an injunction from Khamenei.  “An open threat of ‘bombing’ by a head of state against Iran is a shocking affront to the very essence of international peace and security,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei tweeted on Monday.”Violence breeds violence, peace begets peace. The US can choose the course and concede to consequences.” Meanwhile, Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Commander Amirali Hajizadeh threatened US forces in the Middle East. “Americans have at least 10 bases in the region with 50,000 troops. They are in a glass house and should not throw stones,” Hajizadeh said. Over the weekend, US President Donald Trump warned that he will consider bombing Iran if Tehran refuses to reach an agreement over its nuclear program. In an interview with NBC News, Trump said, “If they dont make a deal, there will be a bombing. It will be bombing the likes of which they have never seen before.”He also warned that he will impose “secondary tariffs” on Iran The post Iran will deliver strong blow if attacked Iran’s Supreme LeaderAyatollah Khamenei warns Trump appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
