An Algerian woman, Sofia Benlemmane has described Ivory Coast, the host nation of the 2023 African Cup of Nations, AFCON as a poor country.
Benlemmane, who is an influencer said Ivorians live in poverty compared to the pre-historic era.
She also said her country, Algeria is too developed to be in Africa and that it should be in Spain.
Benlemmane’s statement has sparked reactions, leading to her deportation by the Ivorian Government.
Her ridicule came in during the AFCON tournament which started on 13 January 2024.

Meanwhile, Algerian supporters were spotted cleaning their stands at the stadium, after their AFCON game against Angola.
