Iyanya Outcry Yielding Results As One Of Two Mayorkun’s Jewellery Returned

By Frank Ulom

One out of the two pieces of jewellery stolen from singer Mayorkun in Calabar has been returned.

CONVERSEER learned that the jewellery was returned following the outcry of fellow singer, Iyanya and other well-meaning Cross Riverians.

Iyanya had taken to his social media channels on Tuesday morning to plead with residents of Calabar to return Mayorkun’s stolen properties after the latter made a post of him never to come to the Carnival city again.

“My calabar people, this is very bad for the peaceful people I know us to be.

“The government has brought my colleagues to entertain you, all you owe them is protection and great hospitality.

“If you know anyone who stole from my brother, please return it and I will personally compensate you. Drop it at THE GRAND HOTEL, I will personally compensate you, PLEASE,” Iyanya posted on X (formerly Twitter).

About 10 hours after making the plea, the Kukere crooner made another post claiming one of the two pieces of stolen jewellery had been returned.

“Thank you the guy who brought this back this morning to THE GRAND HOTEL CALABAR. Just returned now is 1 of 2 of @Mayorkun jewellery.

“We have one more to go, my brothers if you have the second one please help us return it,” he posted on X.

The Cross River-born singer made another post pleading for the return of the second jewellery.

“This one is still not been found, please check around, I’m sure we have it somewhere and will please return the second one to our brother, before he leaves Calabar. Just got Grand Hotel Calabar and drop it there, there’s a reward waiting for you on arrival,” he noted.

CONVERSEER reports that Mayorkun (Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel) took to social media to announce that his pieces of jewellery were stolen and vowed never to visit Calabar again after his performance at the Carnival Calabar & Festival Mega Concert on Monday night.

Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, popularly known as Iyanya was born in Palm Street, Calabar, Cross River state capital.
