Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, Senator Representing the Cross River Northern Senatorial District and Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, Member Representing Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency have been inaugurated as leaders of the Cross River State Senate and House of Representatives Caucus, respectively.
The inauguration took place during a meeting with Governor Bassey Otu and members of both chambers of the National Assembly on 25th May 2024, at the temporary Office of the Governor in Calabar.
Coordinated by Otu’s Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Ntufam Hon. Chris Njah Mbu-Ogar, the meeting provided a platform for Senators and Members of the House of Representatives from Cross River State to interface with the Governor and to chart a new course for the state, in spite of personal and party affiliations.
Apart from Hon. Bassey Akiba, who was absent due to an official assignment outside the country, every other member of the National Assembly from Cross River State attended the meeting and contributed significantly to discourse centred on the unity, collaboration, growth and prosperity of Cross River state.
In his remark, the leader of the Cross River State House of Representatives Caucus, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, commended Governor Otu for the initiative, describing him as a leader with the capacity and passion to transform the state.

He bolstered that the initiative marks the beginning of a new era of unity and cooperation among Cross River State National Assembly members and the state government, setting a pace for progress and prosperity in the state.
He pledged to galvanise his colleagues to support the present administration, calling on all Cross Riverians to unite and work together for the growth and prosperity of the state.
