A building on Biola Street in the Alapere area of Ketu, Lagos, was engulfed by fire on Friday, triggering panic among residents and business owners in the neighbourhood.
The cause of the blaze and the extent of the damage were not immediately known as emergency responders continued efforts to contain the incident.
Eyewitnesses said officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service arrived promptly at the scene and battled the flames to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities had yet to issue an official statement, and it remained unclear whether the incident resulted in any casualties.
