Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has disclosed that his administration is taking concrete steps towards establishing a fresh permanent orientation camp for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the state.
Sani made the disclosure at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members at the NYSC temporary orientation camp, Government College, Kaduna.
The governor said the move was aimed at improving the experience of Corps Members and providing them with a safe and supportive environment throughout their service year.
According to him, the state government remained committed to working with the NYSC to ensure the welfare and security of Corps Members deployed to Kaduna.
“Your safety is a top priority for us. We will continue to work closely with security agencies and NYSC management to protect you throughout your stay,” he told corps members.
The urged them to make the most of their three-week orientation programme by participating actively in the various training and development activities lined up for them.
He said the orientation course would expose them to leadership, discipline, teamwork, entrepreneurship and patriotic values needed to contribute meaningfully to national development.
The governor also charged the Corps members to uphold integrity and discipline, obey camp rules, respect constituted authority and build relationships that would promote national unity and peaceful coexistence.
“Kaduna State is proud to host you. We are a land of diverse cultures, resilient people, and a strong drive for peace, innovation, and sustainable growth,” he said.
Earlier, the State Coordinator of the scheme in Kaduna, Mrs. Efeke Murna Dadaza, thanked the state government for its continued support to the scheme, particularly in providing an enabling environment for the orientation programme and ensuring the welfare and security of Corps Members.
Dadaza said the orientation course would prepare the Corps Members for their year-long national service through physical training, leadership and citizenship lectures, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), sporting activities, drills and cultural programmes.
She urged the Corps Members to obey camp rules and regulations, respect constituted authority and demonstrate discipline, dedication, integrity and patriotism throughout their service year.
The NYSC coordinator also advised them to remain security conscious, comply with safety guidelines and report concerns through appropriate channels.
Sani subsequently declared the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II NYSC orientation course in Kaduna State officially open.
