Kansas City Chiefs’ Xavier Worthy arrested for alleged domestic violence

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy was arrested on Friday night in Williamson County, Texas, on suspicion of domestic violence. The charge involves assault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation, which typically refers to choking.

 

According to law enforcement sources, Worthy remains in the Williamson County jail without bail as he awaits a court appearance scheduled for later today. The charge is classified as a third-degree felony under Texas law.

Details surrounding the alleged incident remain unclear, and officials have yet to release additional information.

 

Worthy, 21, had an impressive performance in Super Bowl LIX, recording eight receptions for 157 yards and two touchdowns in the Chiefs’ 22–40 loss. The rookie wide receiver, who set a 40-yard dash record of 4.21 seconds at the 2024 NFL Combine, had a strong first season in the NFL, finishing with 59 receptions, 638 yards, and six touchdowns.

 

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office have yet to issue statements regarding Worthy’s arrest.
