The NPFL confirmed that the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium meets all necessary standards for league fixtures, making it the official home ground for Lobi Stars for the remainder of the season.
The Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, affectionately known as “The Cathedral,” is currently the home ground of NPFL champions Rangers International, who are 5th on the league table after 27 matches.
For Lobi Stars, this marks their third home ground of the 2024/2025 season. The club began the season in Lafia before relocating to Bauchi, and now, they will call Enugu their new base.
Despite the challenges, the club remains determined to turn things around. In a statement, Lobi Stars explained that the move to Enugu is part of their efforts to create a more strategic and favorable environment for both the team and its supporters.
Baba Ganaru started the season with fellow struggling team Akwa United.
The club also emphasized that all logistics are in place to ensure a smooth transition and a lively matchday atmosphere.
“We are excited about this new chapter in our journey and are determined to make Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium a fortress for Lobi Stars,” the club said in the press release. “We are focused on ensuring a high-quality atmosphere for our players and supporters as we push for greater success in the league.”
