His Eminence Metropolitan Mark of Berlin and Germany, the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia’s eldest hierarch, is currently leading a pilgrimage to the holy sites of the Macedonian Orthodox Church-Ohrid Archbishopric.

On February 10, Met. Mark visited His Beatitude Archbishop Stefan of Ohrid, the primate of the Macedonian Church at the Archbishop’s residence, reports the Skopje Diocese.
The next day, the ROCOR hierarch celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the St. Clement of Ohrid Cathedral in Skopje for the feast of St. Ignatius the God-bearer. He was concelebrated by clergy from his Diocese of Berlin and the local Skopje Diocese. The service was attended local faithful and the pilgrims accompanying Met. Mark.

Later that day, Met. Mark and the German pilgrims visited the 11th-century Lesnovo Monastery, one of the Macedonian Church’s most important holy sites. His Eminence was warmly welcomed by the diocesan hierarch, Metropolitan Ilarion of Bregalnica, after which they shared a common agape meal.

On February 12, the Metropolitan and pilgrims visited the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos Eleusa Monastery in Veljusa and the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos and St. Leontius Monastery in Vodocha.
