The Nigerian currency, the naira, appreciated against the dollar at the official window on Friday, January 24, 2025, to close the week positively.
FMDQ data showed that the naira appreciated N1,531.20 /$1 from the N1,548.59/$1 recorded the previous day.
This represents a gain of N17.39 against the dollar.
On a week-on-week basis, the naira gained N16.38, The naira began the week at N1.547.58/$1 but closed at N1,531.20 /$1.
In the black market, the naira closed flat against the dollar to trade at N1,660/$1 same as the previous rate of N1,660/$1.
The naira gained N30 against the British Pound to trade at N2,050/£1 as against the previous day’s rate of N2,080£1.
The naira continues to hold steady against the Canadian Dollar at N1,280/CA$1.
The naira gained N10 against the Euro to trade at ₦1,690/€1 as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,700/€1.
