The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has identified 39 tertiary institutions across the country that it says are yet to reimburse students who paid their tuition fees before the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) settled the same fees on their behalf.
The student body said the affected institutions had already received tuition payments from NELFUND for eligible beneficiaries but had failed to refund students who had initially financed their education out of pocket.
NANS President, Akinteye Babatunde, made this known in a statement shared on his X account on Wednesday, explaining that the publication of the list was intended to promote transparency and ensure that affected students recover their money without unnecessary delays.
He stated, “The following institutions have received NELFUND tuition payments on behalf of eligible students but are yet to refund students who had already paid their tuition fees before the NELFUND disbursement.
