NESREA, FRSC Partner to Curb Excessive Carbon Emissions in Cross River

NESREA, FRSC Partner to Curb Excessive Carbon Emissions in Cross River

The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA)    Cross River State Field Office, has declared its readiness to collaborate with the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) to curb excessive smoke or carbon emission in the state.

NESREA also expressed its readiness to partner with the FRSC in intelligence and information sharing on areas of common interest .

This was contained in  a release by the Sector Public Education Officer (SPEO), Mr. Samuel Otih when the Coordinator, Cross River Field Office of NESREA, Mr. Anunobi Raymond and his entourage paid a courtesy visit on  the Cross River FRSC Sector Commander, CC Joseph Toby in his office in Calabar on Thursday, May 15.

The Coordinator, NESREA, who was accompanied on the visit by the NESREA heads of Public Affairs, Environmental Conservation and Pollution Control, assured the Sector Commander of his readiness to collaborate with the FRSC “using the standard operating procedures especially in curbing excessive smoke emission and in intelligence and information sharing on areas of common interest”.

Raymond expressed happiness at  the warm reception  accorded him and his team stating that his visit was to further boost the already existing synergy between FRSC and NESREA aimed at maintaining the peaceful and secure status of Cross River State and achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs) as contained in their regulations.

While receiving the NESREA Coordinator and his entourage, the Sector Commander reaffirmed the need for strategic partnership which he noted would be impossible without collaboration.

Toby thanked the Coordinator and his entourage for coming to familiarize with the sector command and informed them of the various FRSC products and activities, giving an overview of the FRSC mobile  App.

He also intimated them of the recent price adjustments in the Nigeria drivers’ license as well as number plates.
