NEW YORK (CONVERSEER) – Sapphire Egemasi, a Nigerian programmer known as a “Tech Queen,” face 20 years in jail in the United States of America.
Egemasi was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in April 2025 in New York for alleged cyber fraud and money laundering.
She was accused of creating fake U.S. government websites to steal credentials and defrauding agencies of millions from 2021 to 2023, with specific transactions of $965,000 and $330,000 cited.
Currently in custody in Lexington, Kentucky, she faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
Her lavish online persona, showcasing designer fashion and vacations, is allegedly funded by fraud, though this is unproven.
The case is ongoing, with no public defence statements available, and she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
