Hon. Amb. Mina Horsfall

By Nelson NseAbasi

ABUJA (CONVERSEER) – “Nigerian youths have been described as catalysts of development all over the world” – the remark was made by the Special Adviser on Development Partners and ICT to Abuja Municipal Area Council, Hon. Mina Horsfall, in her goodwill message to Nigerian youths on International Youth Day 2025.

The goodwill message states her celebration of the determination, creativity and leadership of young Nigerians making impact globally.

Quoting this year’s theme – “Local Youth Action for the SDGs and Beyond”– reminds us that global progress begins in communities. And in every corner of the world young people are leading the way, she said, “my encouragement goes to the youth, especially the females who are driving sustainable development, building more inclusive communities, forging peace, and demanding a fairer, greener and more just future for all.”

According to the United Nations, this year also marks a renewed commitment to the World Programme of Action for Youth – a recognition that when young people lead, societies thrive. “To every young person: your voice, ideas and leadership matter.”
