Lagos, Nigeria – Nigerians have reacted to popular content creator, Martins Vincent Otse (aka) VeryDarkMan claims of losing N180 million to hackers via his NGO website.

Converseer reports that VeryDarkMan operates a non-governmental organisation known as Martins Vincent Osei Initiative, which started operation in October and reportedly raised over N35 million in donations within hours.

According to the content creator on Friday via his Instagram account, the suspect had already been apprehended in connection with the crime.

He said the hacked account has been placed on PND (Payment Network Disconnection), and while N160 million was diverted to an undisclosed account, the balance of N20 million remains within the compromised account.

Recall that VeryDarkMan took to social media to announce that he received a generous N100 million contribution from renowned music producer Michael Collins Ajereh (aka) Don Jazzy.

“Alright. So I’m at the airport, I’ll be honest with you guys. For the past few days, I’ve not been myself. I am here with Officer Joe, and we are going to Jos.

“The NGO money, somebody hacked into the NGO website, and I don’t know how they did it. And N180 million naira is missing. So we have, thank God we have tracked the person and we are on our way to Jos.

“And then, they’ve arrested one person, so that’s why I’m even saying it now. I am excited. And an account has been pulled on PND.

“So the account now has N20 million, N160 million has been diverted to another account. So we are currently going there to see how we’ll get the money back.”

“I just want to update you, people; I have even asked to shut down the app and put it on maintenance so that people will not really see what is going on, but let me just come out plain and tell everybody that this is what is going on. But hopefully, we get the money back, so I’m on my way to Jos,” he said.

Reacting to the claims, here is what Nigerians are saying:

“Is a prank y’all be calming down, verydarkman travel to Jos for Christmas celebration” – Comedian Privilegedson reacts after VeryDarkMan claims that his NGO was hacked and they are currently in Jos to arrest the suspected hackers.

“This is either a skit or you are catching cruise” — Oyemykke questions VeryDarkMan over claims of missing money in his NGO.

“This whole thing is smelling like cruise gone wrong. If N180 million really disappeared, where’s the evidence? The story no clear, and right now it’s looking more like a skit than a serious issue. Make it make sense!” – @Mas_Dinero_

“If you are the one that took that 180million naira from Verydarkman I give you just 24 hours to return it or you will see what I will do to you” – @abazwhyllzz

“Now I believe that in Nigeria a snake or any animal can swallow money, the same snake that stole from the Federal government that year just stole from Verydarkman too. What a time to be alive” – @theway1714

“How 180M go disappear from Verydarkman NGO website, abi na account?? Is this the smart move Sabinus has been talking about since?” – @averybadboy_x

“Seun was telling me what he would buy if 180 million enters his account yesterday and today Verydarkman said his 180 million is missing. Hmmmmm” – @abazwhyllzz
