DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, July 20, 2026/APO Group/ —

Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, the Honourable Minister of Health from Nigeria, headed a senior delegation from the Ministry of Health and the Consulate of Nigeria to Dubai for an official visit to Aster DM Healthcare’s (https://www.AsterDMHealthcare.com/) UAE facilities. The visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration in healthcare training, capacity building, and knowledge sharing between Nigeria’s Ministry of Health and Aster DM Healthcare.

Dr. Salako witnessed firsthand the international standards of care and medical excellence that Aster provides through its extensive network of hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies in the region. The leadership team of Aster DM Healthcare warmly welcomed the delegation, who toured several state-of-the-art facilities, including Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital, Aster Hospital in Al Qusais, Aster Pharmacy stores and Medcare Medical Centre in Mirdif, Aster DM Healthcare’s holistic medicine clinic, Wellth, as well as Aster pharmacy’s robotic warehouse. During the tour, the delegation engaged with senior clinicians, hospital administrators, and technology teams, who showcased Aster’s diverse clinical services, digital innovations, and programs focused on quality excellence.

The delegation found Aster’s specialized initiatives particularly remarkable, including critical cardiac care that provides heart patients with a fresh lease on life, the pioneering WalkAgain robotic rehabilitation program that helps restore mobility to those suffering from neurological disorders, and extensive healthcare technology for women and children that secures safe pregnancies and optimistic futures, along with the advanced facilities that Aster has established for its cardiology, neurology, oncology, and orthopaedic specializations.

Commenting on the visit, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, the Honourable Minister of Health in Nigeria, remarked, “We were delighted to observe Aster DM Healthcare’s strong commitment to quality, patient safety, and specialized care. The integrated healthcare model, along with a focus on training and innovation, offers significant opportunities for collaboration. We anticipate a close partnership with Aster DM Healthcare to exchange best practices and enhance healthcare capacity in Nigeria.”

In welcoming the delegation, Ms. Alisha Moopen, Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, stated, “At Aster DM Healthcare, our mission has consistently been to ensure that quality healthcare is both accessible and compassionate. This visit underscores our mutual conviction that collaboration, training, and knowledge sharing can yield a lasting impact. We are dedicated to partnering with the Nigerian Ministry of Health to facilitate capacity building and improve healthcare outcomes for communities”.

Key discussions during the visit focused on enhancing capacity by providing the training of nurses and paramedics, advancing clinical skills for physicians, implementing surgical outreach initiatives, and referring complex cases to Aster’s tertiary care facilities in the UAE. The conversations also underscored the significance of Aster Volunteers, the group’s global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, which includes mobile medical clinics and maternal health programs designed to enhance healthcare accessibility in underserved populations. Both parties reached a consensus to create a collaborative working framework between the Nigerian Ministry of Health and Aster DM Healthcare, aimed at converting these discussions into actionable plans that promote sustainable healthcare development and foster global partnerships for improved patient outcomes.

This collaboration exemplifies Aster’s enduring dedication to positively impacting lives and extending its influence beyond its own facilities, a mission that has steered the organization since its establishment.
