NIPR institutes annual Best Graduating Student prize for Baze University Mass Communication graduates

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), FCT Chapter, has instituted an Annual Best Graduating Student Prize in Mass Communication at Baze University, marking a significant milestone in the growing partnership between the University and Nigeria’s premier public relations professional body.

The announcement was made during a courtesy visit by a high-powered delegation of the Institute, led by the FCT Chapter Chairman, Mr. Stanley Azuka Ogadigbo, to the Vice-Chancellor of Baze University.

Receiving the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun Adeniyi, warmly welcomed the initiative, describing it as a thoughtful investment in academic excellence and professional development. He also conveyed the goodwill and best wishes of the Chancellor and Founder of Baze University, Senator Datti Baba Ahmed, while reaffirming the University’s commitment to building enduring partnerships that enrich learning, promote professional excellence and contribute to national development.

Beyond the annual prize, both institutions agreed to deepen collaboration through a range of initiatives, including professional mentoring, training programmes, capacity-building activities, industry engagement and other strategic partnerships that will better prepare students for rewarding careers in communication and public relations.

The meeting also focused on the forthcoming World Conference of Public Relations, scheduled for later this year. Baze University and the NIPR expressed their shared commitment to working closely towards the success of the global gathering, recognising its importance as a platform for advancing professional discourse, fostering international collaboration and showcasing Nigeria’s leadership in the practice of public relations.

The Vice-Chancellor commended the delegation for its forward-looking vision and enduring commitment to nurturing the next generation of communication professionals. He noted that the partnership reflects a shared belief that excellence in higher education is best sustained through strong collaboration between academia and professional institutions.
