LAGOS (CONVERSEER) – Nollywood actress, Grace Bassey (formerly Belinda Effah, has joined the United States Navy and was sworn in as a citizen, marking a remarkable milestone.
The 33-year-old disclosed this on Monday on Instagram, adding that she recently graduated from US Navy boot camp as a sailor.
According to the post, which was accompanied by a photo of her in military uniform, Bassey said the onus was to honour her late father, Naval Aide Bassey Effah.

“Last week, I graduated from U.S. Navy boot camp as a Sailor and took the oath as a citizen of the United States.
“Nigeria raised me. America challenged me. I stand today stronger and more determined than ever.
“Thank you to everyone who believed in me. This is just the beginning.
“In Honor (sic) of my Late Father – Naval CDR Asido Bassey Effah,” her Instagram post read in part.
Converseer reports that Bassey is an award-winning actress, recognised for her talent, including the Most Promising Actress of the Year award at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
