Lagos, Nigeria – Social media critic Martin’s Vincent Otse, popularly known as Very Dark Man, has claimed that Nigerian music superstar Burna Boy has withdrawn the criminal defamation charges against singer Speed Darlington.

In a video shared on social media, Very Dark Man revealed that Speed Darlington, who was in police custody over the case, will soon be released.

While details of the alleged defamation and the circumstances leading to the charges remain unclear, the withdrawal marks a resolution to the dispute. Neither Burna Boy nor his representatives have publicly commented on the matter at the time of this report.

“Shoutout to Burna Boy, for what you did. You’ve earned my respect. Hopefully, Speed Darlington will be out on Monday”, VDM stated in the video.

Recall that on the 29th of November Deji Adeyanju, the lawyer representing Speed Darlington disclosed that his client had been transferred from Owerri to Abuja following his arrest by the police.

In a post shared on his official X handle, Deji Adeyanju revealed that the police apprehended Speed Darlington upon his return to Nigeria for a show.
