Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has appealed for public support after revealing that she has been hospitalised for three weeks and urgently requires ₦30 million to undergo three life-saving surgeries.
The actress made the emotional appeal in a video shared on her official Instagram page on Thursday, where she appeared from her hospital bed, asking fans, friends and well-wishers not to abandon her as she battles an undisclosed illness.
Speaking in the video, Nwosu explained that her prolonged absence from the public had been due to her deteriorating health.
“My people, my fans and my family, I know that you’ve not seen me in circulation for some time. I’ve been hospitalised now for three weeks. Please, the thing has gone beyond my control. I need your help, don’t let me die,” she said.
The actress said she remained hopeful of recovery but admitted she was enduring severe pain and could no longer cope without financial assistance.
“I know that you people never forsake me and I know that God will always see me through, but I’m begging you, my friends and family, don’t let me die because I am going through a lot as in pain,” she added.
Nwosu urged individuals willing to assist to reach out through her management team, expressing optimism that she would recover.
“My sickness will never be anybody’s portion. In Jesus’ name, thank you,” she said.
Although the actress did not disclose the nature of her illness, she revealed in an earlier appeal that doctors had recommended three surgeries estimated to cost about ₦30 million.
Nwosu is one of Nollywood’s most respected actresses, with a career spanning decades and memorable performances in numerous television series and films. Her appeal has since drawn sympathy from colleagues, fans and members of the entertainment industry, many of whom have called for support to enable her receive the medical treatment she requires.
