Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 29 saw thrilling performances across the league, with Rivers United edging out El-Kanemi Warriors, Remo Stars strengthening their title push with a over Heartland, and Ikorodu City drawing with Enyimba in a dramatic encounter in Lagos.

Finidi George led Rivers United secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri. After taking the lead with a 47th-minute goal from Taofeek Otaniyi, the visitors doubled their advantage in the 61st minute thanks to Samson Obi sweet finish.

However, El-Kanemi made things interesting when Rislanu Ismail pulled one back in the 6th minute of added time, but Rivers United held on for the win. This victory sees them maintain strong away form, with 16 points on the road this season, just one shy of last year’s record.

In Uyo, Akwa United triumphed over 3SC, winning 2-0 with goals from Endurance Ebedebiri in the 61st minute and Uche Sabastine in the 67th minute.

Gbenga Ogunbote led Shooting Stars are struggling, failing to win their last seven NPFL matches, just one ahead of Lobi Stars, who are yet to claim victory in 12 games.
