The former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, lamented on Sunday there are more fraudsters in President Bola Tinubu’s government than outside the corridor of power.

Obi, who made the assertion at the Nexford University graduation ceremony in Lagos, alleged that the Nigerian government harbour more corrupt individuals than the wider society.

He argued that the country is being exploited by public officials who misuse resources for their gain.

Obi stressed the importance of strong leadership which he said is crucial to manage the affairs of the country.

He said: “For governance, don’t think when we talk about vices, it is only Yahoo boys. There are more Yahoo people in government than there are outside because we have turned the entire country into a crime scene where people inside are stealing and people outside are stealing.

“It is about leadership and igniting the future. It is not rocket science but it isn’t easy. It is having a strong character, and the ability not to do the wrong thing.
