High expectations greeted the brief ceremony of handing over the seal of Office to the Executive Chairman of Obubra Local Government Council, Hon. Kingsley Arikpo, by Head of Local Government Administration of the Council (HOLGA), Mr Ike Bassey Ibangha, at the Council Secretariat on Thursday.

In a symbolic presentation of the handover a note containing the breakdown of activities in the council, suggestions and recommendations, the HOLGA implored the Chairman to ensure a symbiotic relationship with the bureaucrats to make the civil servants continue to be in tap during his administration.

Arikpo, who was not deterred from the perceived infrastructural decay and the near absence of a conducive working environment for members of his Executive Council and the Legislature, assured of a rewrite of the narrative to checkmate the daunting challenges confronting the new administration.

The highlight of the occasion was the inspection of all infrastructural facilities in the Council Headquarters of the Obubra ancient town, where the crowd that followed to witness the inspection pressed on him like a messiah.
