Otu Approves 2 Weeks Public Holiday For Civil Servants

To ensure the “Season of Sweetness” goes round, Governor Bassey Otu has approved an extended public holiday for Cross River State Civil Servants.

This was disclosed in a press statement signed by Emmanuel Ogbeche, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the public holiday runs for two weeks; 20th December 2023 to 2nd January 2024.

Otu urged the workers to use the opportunity to spend quality with their families.

“Governor Bassey Edet Otu has approved extended holiday for civil servants in Cross River State.

“The Governor in appreciation of the commitment and hardwork of civil servants has approved December 20, 2023, to January 2, 2024, as holidays except for those on essential duties.

“Governor Otu enjoined the civil servants to use the opportunity to spend quality time with their families while also being actively involved in the Carnival Calabar,” the statement read in part.

Adding that, “The Governor reiterated the commitment of his administration in providing quality and conducive environment for all citizens and residents of the state while wishing them a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.”
