Governor Bassey Otu has informed his predecessor, Sen. Ben Ayade that President Bola Tinubu wants to see him.
The message was conveyed in a press statement signed by Linus Obogo, Chief Press Secretary/Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
According to the statement, the President is requesting an audience with Ayade, one of the forerunners for the 2027 Senatorial election in Cross River North, on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
“The Presidency hereby formally announces that His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is scheduled to receive the immediate past Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Professor Ben Ayade, in Abuja tomorrow for a high-level political engagement and consultation of significant national and strategic importance.
“In furtherance of this directive, Professor Ben Ayade is hereby requested to report to the Presidency at the earliest possible time on Thursday for this scheduled audience with Mr President,” the statement read.
