Barely 48 hours after his dramatic exit from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Abdul-Azeez Adediran, the party’s 2023 Lagos State governorship candidate, has become the center of a desperate reconciliation effort by top party leaders.
On Wednesday, a high-profile delegation led by PDP National Secretary Ude Okoye paid a visit to Adediran at his Abuja office, pleading with him to reconsider his decision and return to the party fold.
Adediran, popularly known as Jandor and the leader of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, announced his resignation from the PDP on Monday, citing deep-seated betrayal and a lack of internal discipline. The move sent shockwaves through the party’s Lagos chapter, where Adediran had built a grassroots following.

In a statement released by his spokesman, Gbenga Ogunleye, the weight of the visit was clear. Alongside Okoye were former PDP National Publicity Secretary Kola Ologbondiyan and ex-House of Representatives member Shina Peller; a show of force revealing the party’s eagerness to mend fences.
“The delegation acknowledged Adediran’s grievances but passionately urged him to withdraw his resignation and return to the PDP,” Ogunleye said.
Despite the overtures, Adediran remained measured in his response. While expressing gratitude for their support, he made no immediate commitments, stating only his willingness to maintain relationships with political allies, regardless of differing alignments.
Adediran’s exit from the PDP was far from quiet. He left with a wave of supporters across Lagos State’s 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas, a move that could further destabilize the already fractured party.
He had blamed his resignation on what he described as betrayal by party elders and the PDP’s chronic failure to resolve its internal crisis in Lagos.
