Peter Obi visits Isaac Fayose amid controversy over Seyi Tinubu meeting – The Sun Nigeria

Presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, on Saturday visited one of his prominent supporters, Isaac Fayose, in Abuja.

The visit came days after controversy erupted over Fayose’s recent meeting with Seyi Tinubu.

Fayose had met with Seyi Tinubu and businessman Pascal Okechukwu in the Federal Capital Territory.

Videos from the gathering circulated widely on social media, showing the trio praying for President Bola Tinubu, themselves and the country.

The meeting sparked reactions online, particularly among supporters of Obi, with some questioning Fayose’s engagement with associates of the president.

Responding in another viral video, Fayose dismissed the allegations and condemned his critics.

The popular businessman pointed out his sacrifices toward Obi’s presidential ambition since 2023.

Less than 24 hours after Fayose’s outburst, Obi visited the businessman at his Abuja residence.

In a video shared on Fayose’s page on Saturday, the former Anambra State governor was seen engaging in a light-hearted conversation with his Fayose.

Addressing the online backlash, Obi suggested that many of those behind the online attacks were not “following” him.

He said, “Half of the people that abused you don’t follow us. What they do is hire people to call others all sorts of names.”
