By Frank Ulom

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Cross River State Police Command has confirmed the receipt of two fake Naval officers from the Nigerian Navy in Calabar, the state capital.

Confirming the report on Monday, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, disclosed the identity of the suspects to be David Aleji “m” and Francis Isaac “m”.

According to Eitokpah, findings revealed that David Aleji allegedly paraded himself as a Nigerian Navy Lieutenant while Francis Isaac impersonated a Midshipman, with both falsely claiming to be serving Naval personnel

The police spokesperson said, “Exhibit recovered military-related items including a jungle hat and a pair of boots. They admitted that the uniforms and accessories were purchased and the identification (ID) cards produced by them.”

Adding, “Case to be charge to court tomorrow (17 March 2026) on one count charge of impersonation.”

Converseer reports that the suspects were arrested by the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) VICTORY on 10 March 2026.
