Police to Charge Two Fake Naval Officers to Court Tomorrow

By Ita Williams, Calabar

The two suspects who impersonated the Nigerian Navy personnel in Calabar will be charged to court tomorrow.

The Cross River State Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Sunday Eitokpah, said they were to be charged to court today but due to some hitches it was rescheduled for tomorrow.

The two men are David Aleji and Francis Isaac

Police said findings revealed that Aleji allegedly paraded himself as a Nigerian Navy Lieutenant while Isaac impersonated a Midshipman, with both falsely claiming to be serving Naval personnel

Eitokpah  further stated that exhibits recovered from the suspects include military-related items which are “a jungle hat and a pair of boots (and) they admitted that the uniforms and accessories were purchased and the identification (ID) cards produced by them”.
