Popular Veteran Nigerian Juju Singer St. Janet Passes Away

Mourning has filled the Nigerian music industry, over the death of popular Juju and Highlife musician, Iyun Janet Oluwatoyosi Ajilore, popularly known as Saint Janet

She died after a brief illness on Sunday.

The news of her death was announced on Sunday by publisher and socialite, Otunba Femi Davies, in a post shared on his Facebook page.

Announcing her death, the post reads, “St Janet (Iyun Janet Ajilore), a popular Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician known for her vibrant live performances, energetic stage presence and socially unfiltered party tracks, is dead. She died after a brief illness on Saturday.”

Saint Janet was widely known for her energetic performances and unique style, which has earned her a loyal fan base within Nigeria’s Juju music community and beyond.

Throughout her music career, she has earned herself a high status at social events and celebrations, captivating audiences with her lively performance and party-themed songs that resonated with many music lovers.

Her style of music makes her a big bird among notable entertainers, while her contributions to the juju and highlife genres can not be overlooked.
