- Trado-NOW themed ceremony set for September 13th in Port Harcourt
The Port Harcourt Magazine Awards 2026 will honour 20 recipients, including 3 Local Government Area Chairmen, at its 6th edition scheduled for September 13th in Port Harcourt.
The 3 LGA Chairmen will be recognized under the categories: LGA Chairman of the Year (Education), LGA Chairman of the Year (Human Capacity Development), and LGA Chairman of the Year (Infrastructural Development).
The ceremony, themed ‘Trado-NOW’, will also recognize excellence across Fashion, Entrepreneurship, Arts, Hospitality, Media, Youth Development, Governance, Community Service and other sectors.
Now in its 6th year, the awards have grown to become the most inclusive and anticipated platform in Southern Nigeria. Past editions have honored governors, captains of industry, creative talents, and community advocates whose work has shaped the social and economic landscape of the South-South region.
According to the Convener and CEO of Port Harcourt Magazine, Kendrick Christian, popularly known as the Sultan of Port Harcourt, the 2026 edition will feature additional result-oriented honours.
“The addition of more result-oriented honours reinforces our commitment to nation-building from the grassroots up,” Christian said. “Sustainable development can only be achieved if everyone in every field contributes excellently. So we are here to celebrate and spur hard work.”
Organizers said the event will bring together leaders from government, business, entertainment, and civil society, with emphasis on development, innovation, and regional pride.
Nominees across all categories will be unveiled in the coming weeks. Winners will emerge through a combination of public voting, expert panel review, and performance assessment.
