A pregnant woman with low Blood Pressure (BP) who refused to be admitted at the hospital over her kids at home, has passed away.

According to Ugegbe Oyibo, a Skin Aesthetician, the pregnant woman died on Friday.

Oyibo said the pregnant woman (name withheld) visited the hospital on Thursday and after checking her BP, she discovered that it was low, 80/44, and asked the doctor to admit her.

However, to Oyibo’s greatest surprise, the pregnant woman refused to be admitted on the excuse that she left her kids alone at home.

“Yesterday (Thursday) I checked the BP of a pregnant woman and is 80/44 she has low BP I notified the doctor and she was told to be admitted because we can’t let her go in that state, she refused and said her kids are alone and no one to take care of them,” Oyibo said in a Facebook post.

Oyibo said, “I asked of her husband she said he will be busy, busy doing what ma?

“Call him and tell him the recent development because we can’t allow you to step out of the hospital like this.

“She kept saying her kids this and her kids that

“She later said she would come back later, I gave her a letter of consent in case…

“I still called 8:pm she picked up when I introduced myself she said she would manage and come later that her husband is yet to be back.”

Oyibo said she was troubled when she called back at past 10 pm and the pregnant woman didn’t respond to her call.

“I called past 10 pm she didn’t pick up. This morning I heard the worst news. She’s late…

“She slept and didn’t wake up,” Oyibo said.

Oyibo added, “Something that can be managed and she is aware.

“Money isn’t an issue because she’s an HMO patient.

“Her only problem is her kids.

“Those kids will survive without her. I feel so sad.”
