PZ, Caverton, Livestock Feeds, AustinLaz top stocks to watch this week

The Nigerian equities market took a hit last week as investors lost N421 billion on the trading floor during the period.

The bourse recorded losses in two of the five trading days as market capitalization crashed to N67.1 trillion from N67.6 trillion recorded the previous week.

Similarly, the All-Share Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.62% to close the week at 107,821.39 points from the 108,497.40 points recorded the previous week.

Amid the market’s poor showing, stocks like Austin Laz & Company (AUSTINLAZ); PZ Cussons Nigeria (PZ); Caverton Offshore Support Group (CAVERTON) and Livestock Feeds (LIVESTOCK) performed creditably well to position themselves as stocks to watch in the new week.

PZ • 35.40 ▴ 2.95 (9.09%)

The current share price of PZ Cussons Nigeria (PZ) is NGN 35.40. PZ closed its last trading day (Friday, February 28, 2025) at 35.40 NGN per share on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX), recording a 9.1% gain over its previous closing price of 32.45 NGN. PZ Cussons began the year with a share price of 24.30 NGN and has since gained 45.7% on that price valuation, ranking it 16th on the NGX in terms of year-to-date performance. Shareholders can be optimistic about PZ knowing the stock has accrued an outstanding 54% over the past four-week period alone—second best on NGX.

PZ Cussons Nigeria is the 55th most traded stock on the Nigerian Stock Exchange over the past three months (Nov 29, 2024 – Feb 28, 2025). PZ has traded a total volume of 134 million shares—in 3,723 deals—valued at NGN 3.36 billion over the period, with an average of 2.13 million traded shares per session. LIVESTOCK • 7.43 ▴ 0.53 (7.68%)

The current share price of Livestock Feeds (LIVESTOCK) is NGN 7.43. LIVESTOCK closed its last trading day (Friday, February 28, 2025) at 7.43 NGN per share on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX), recording a 7.7% gain over its previous closing price of 6.90 NGN. Livestock Feeds began the year with a share price of 4.12 NGN and has since gained 80.3% on that price valuation, ranking it fourth on the NGX in terms of year-to-date performance. Shareholders can be optimistic about LIVESTOCK knowing the stock has accrued 40% over the past four-week period alone—sixth best on NGX.

Livestock Feeds is the 36th most traded stock on the Nigerian Stock Exchange over the past three months (Nov 29, 2024 – Feb 28, 2025). LIVESTOCK has traded a total volume of 276 million shares—in 8,132 deals—valued at NGN 1.47 billion over the period, with an average of 4.37 million traded shares per session. A volume high of 16.8 million was achieved on January 15th, and a low of 673,800 on December 5th, for the same period.

CAVERTON • 2.95 ▴ 0.26 (9.67%)

The current share price of Caverton Offshore Support Group (CAVERTON) is NGN 2.95. CAVERTON closed its last trading day (Friday, February 28, 2025) at 2.95 NGN per share on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX), recording a 9.7% gain over its previous closing price of 2.69 NGN. Caverton Offshore Support began the year with a share price of 2.32 NGN and has since gained 27.2% on that price valuation, ranking it 26th on the NGX in terms of year-to-date performance. Shareholders can be optimistic about CAVERTON knowing the stock has accrued 37% over the past four-week period alone—eighth best on NGX.

Caverton Offshore Support Group is the 50th most traded stock on the Nigerian Stock Exchange over the past three months (Nov 29, 2024 – Feb 28, 2025). CAVERTON has traded a total volume of 166 million shares—in 3,800 deals—valued at NGN 390 million over the period, with an average of 2.64 million traded shares per session. A volume high of 20.9 million was achieved on February 27th, and a low of 246,488 on December 27th, for the same period.

AUSTINLAZ • 2.09 ▴ 0.19 (10%)

The current share price of Austin Laz & Company (AUSTINLAZ) is NGN 2.09. AUSTINLAZ closed its last trading day (Friday, February 28, 2025) at 2.09 NGN per share on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX), recording a 10% gain over its previous closing price of 1.90 NGN. Austin Laz began the year with a share price of 1.82 NGN and has since gained 14.8% on that price valuation, ranking it 46th on the NGX in terms of year-to-date performance.

Austin Laz & Company is the 96th most traded stock on the Nigerian Stock Exchange over the past three months (Nov 29, 2024 – Feb 28, 2025). AUSTINLAZ has traded a total volume of 18.7 million shares—in 667 deals—valued at NGN 33.1 million over the period, with an average of 296,201 traded shares per session. A volume high of 2.94 million was achieved on December 2nd for the same period.
